• Iosco County Medical Care Facility, Tawas City

        The Iosco County Medical Care Facility is an on-going project that

        involves planting and maintaining wheel-chair height flower boxes

        and other areas surrounding the county facility.

        Project Details

        Next Work Date:  Saturday, May 17, 2008; 9 a.m. 

        Focus will be building raised beds in the vegetable garden.

• Healing Garden, St Joseph Health System, Tawas City

       The Healing Garden at St. Joseph's Hospital contains benches, a

        water fountain and more  than 70 species of plants.  Its purpose is

        to provide a natural area for patients, visitors  and staff to visit and

        restore their physical and spiritual health.

        Current status:  Hospital is now doing ongoing maintenance.    

• Sunrise Side Master Gardener Association

        Association needs Mentor Coordinator to assist MG Trainees become

        certified Master Gardeners.

• Iosco County Historical Museum Herb Garden, East Tawas

        Great opportunity for someone interested in herbs and their historical uses.

• Butterfly Garden, Tawas Point State Park, East Tawas

        Opportunity to further develop existing garden near the Tawas Point Lighthouse.

        Other opportunities exist to develop other Lighthouse gardens.

• Corsair Ski Trail Warming Hut, Huron National Forest

        Great opportunity to design and plant native & deer resistant landscaping.

• Northeast Michigan Regional Farm Market; Gateway Park, Tawas City

        Local Master Gardeners answer gardening questions at the local Farm Market.

         Farm Market starts May 24, 2008.
